Comment | Installation of RHEL 4 Update 4 is exceedingly slow and finally fails with the error "The package X cannot be opened. This is due to a missing file or perhaps a corrupt package." The installation CDs pass both md5 and RH's media tests and have been used successfully to install RHEL4 on other systems. Also tried a different CD-ROM drive to rule that out. Per http://www.gatago.com/linux/redhat/4426448.html , this error message is the result of a timing issue. I suspect there's a problem with how i2o in RHEL4 Update 4 is accessing the 2400A, which is causing the timing problem. Incidentally, this card works fine in this system with Red Hat 7.3 and its default dpt driver. |
